Joe Rovegno

Joe Rovegno has coached women's gymnastics for over 17 years. After finishing his diving career at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, he was asked to assist the women's gymnastics team. For the next five years, Joe remained at Cal Poly, and helped produce three All-American gymnasts, and the team went from unranked to finishing third in the Division II nationals. Joe's final year, Joe entered the private gymnastics club community as Head Coach at San Mateo Gymnastics. After moving to the Sacramento area, Joe was first the Head Coach at Byers Gymnastics, and then moved to Gymagic where he remained as an assistant coach for four years, before Gymagic closed, several of Joe's students continued successful gymnastics careers in college. Joe returned to Byers, where he worked with Head Coach Eli Rodriguez until his first son was born.

Now, after being away from the sport for about four years, Joe decided that it was time to get back into the gym, and is now an Assistant Coach at Pozsar's Gymnastics. Joe holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education from Cal Poly. He is married to his wife, Julie, and has two sons, Cole and Kyle.

Joe coaches the Optionals and Compulsories.
